There will be available £400 towards the cost of replacing a "G" rated gas boiler, the boiler must be working and in use. You must apply to the scheme for a voucher, vouchers will be issued after 18th January and be valid for 12 weeks from date of issue. You will need your chosen boiler installers details to claim the voucher. Once the boiler installation is complete you will have to return your voucher together with the installers invoice to the scheme operator for your £400 refund.
Over 60? then your boiler need not be working, furthermore if your boiler is not "G" rated then you may be entitled to a £300 grant from the warm front scheme.

Something to consider is that a "G" rated boiler is going to be in the region of 25 years old, this means that the entire heating system unless previously updated, would be the same age as the boiler. If this is the case then other work may be required to conform to Building (energy efficiency) Regulations, such as fitting Thermostatic Radiator Valves, a pre-insulated hot water cylinder (unless fitting a combination boiler), heating and hot water controls etc.
